A New World of Hope
Foundation
is a non-profit organization committed to making a difference in the lives of children throughout the world.
The initial focus of the Foundation is in Kenya. Due to the AIDS epidemic in Africa, the escalation of orphans is a situation that demands immediate attention.
From founder Eric Mabie: One of the many reasons for starting my own foundation, instead of assisting an already existing cause, was the assurance of knowing exactly where the money is going, how much of it is getting there, and whom it is impacting.
Why Kenya? Once I decided to take action, I started talking to people in the community about my foundation, but wasn't sure where or how to direct my attention. Then I remembered Molly and Joseph Bail, friends from church who were moving to Kenya in 2007 to start a care center for orphans and children in need. Please visit springs of hope to learn more.
What better way to be assured that your contributions are making their intended impact than to have your friends on the front lines.
The short-term plan:
-
To raise $50K to build the care center that will accommodate 40-50 children.
-
To raise $20K to build a medical clinic that can attack the orphan epidemic at its root cause (dying parents).
-
To set up automatic monthly contributions to cover monthly maintenance costs of running these facilities.
-
To purchase land to harvest crops to allow each care center to be as self-sufficient as possible.
The long-term plan:
To accumulate capital to repeat this process over and over again!
